The Fläpps shoe rack by AMBIVALENZ is wall-mounted and leaves the hallway floor entirely clear. Its vertical and narrow silhouette slips in where space is tight, against a corridor wall or behind a door. Closed, it forms a flat and discreet panel; open, it unfolds its flaps to hold everyday pairs.
The construction combines birch plywood, coated with black coloured HPL, with stainless steel hinges. The wood retains its fineness as a panel, the coating resists the friction of soles and cleans effortlessly. The ensemble remains light whilst accepting a comfortable load once correctly fixed.
This piece belongs to the Fläpps family, whose modules share the same language of folding panels and combine with one another along a wall. The matt black contrasts against a light partition and asserts the graphic line of the object, in a contemporary entrance as in a flat's cloakroom.
