The Fläpps shoe rack by AMBIVALENZ is wall-mounted and frees up the floor space in the entrance. Its two flaps fold flat against the wall when not in use: the unit then becomes discreet, reduced to a panel just a few centimetres thick. Once opened, the compartments accommodate everyday pairs and keep the passage clear.
The structure combines birch plywood coated with coloured HPL and stainless steel components. The black-stained veneer provides a clean surface, easy to maintain in a passageway. The vertical format, taller than it is wide, installs equally well in a narrow corridor, a vestibule or near a service door.
Each flap supports a load that allows for real storage, without being limited to a few lightweight pairs. The shallow depth of the unit and its contained weight facilitate installation, even in spaces where every centimetre counts. The system also lends itself to composition: several Fläpps modules aligned or stacked create a cohesive storage wall.
