Bedroom Pendant Lights and Chandeliers

Nearly 1,500 pendant lights and chandeliers for the bedroom, from 30 to 69 cm in diameter, in metal, rattan, glass or ceramic, by Forestier, Maytoni, Belid, Marset or Muuto.

In a bedroom, the pendant light should give light without harshness: you often look at it lying down. Shades that diffuse the light, in rattan, paper, opal glass or ceramic, work better than a bare bulb.

What size pendant light in a bedroom?

The selection brings together pendant lights from 30 to 69 cm in diameter, the right scale for a bedroom of 10 to 20 m². In the centre of the room, a pendant light of 40 to 50 cm is usually enough. Two small pendant lights on either side of the bed can also replace bedside lamps and free up the bedside tables.

Soft, adjustable light

Rattan and natural fibres filter the light and cast soothing shadows. Opal glass and ceramic give an even light. Metal designs, in white, black or gold, direct the beam downwards: pair them with a dimmer or a low-wattage bulb.

Frequently asked questions

Which bulb for a bedroom pendant light?

Choose a warm light, around 2,700 kelvins, and a moderate wattage. A frosted glass bulb avoids glare when you are lying down. A dimmer lets you move from light for getting dressed to a subdued glow in the evening.

Can you hang a pendant light above the bed?

Yes, if it hangs high enough not to get in the way when you sit up and is firmly fixed to the ceiling. Many people prefer to shift it towards the centre of the room or place it above the foot of the bed.

Pendant light or ceiling light in a bedroom?

Under a ceiling of less than 2.40 m, a flush ceiling light saves you from bumping into it and keeps the space clear. With a standard height or more, a pendant light brings more presence and a closer light.
