The Fläpps shoe rack by AMBIVALENZ adopts a vertical and narrow format that slips into an entrance, a corridor or the corner of a bedroom. Its structure is based on birch plywood coated with coloured HPL, combined with stainless steel parts. The black finish gives the whole a graphic, almost linear design, which disappears on a dark wall or stands out clearly on a light partition.
The principle is that of an articulated wall storage: the shelves fold back against the wall when not in use, then open to accommodate pairs. The shallow depth limits the space taken up in narrow passages, where a classic shoe cabinet obstructs circulation. The stated load capacity allows each level to be filled without reservation.
The shoe rack belongs to the Fläpps family, whose wall elements share the same vocabulary of folding panels. Several modules can thus be combined on the same wall to compose a coherent ensemble, from the entrance coat rack to additional storage.
