Flos

The Italian icon of lighting design

For over sixty years, Flos has been pushing the boundaries of lighting design, working with the greatest international designers. Founded in Italy in 1962, the brand has become an essential reference in contemporary lighting thanks to a unique approach that combines technological innovation, aesthetic research and creative freedom. From timeless icons to the most avant-garde creations, Flos turns light into a truly architectural and emotional experience.

Founded in 1962 in Merano, Italy, Flos has established itself as one of the most influential players in the history of lighting design. From the very beginning, the brand has been driven by a unique ambition: to reinvent light through objects capable of transforming spaces and ways of using them.

This vision has taken shape thanks to collaborations with leading figures in the international design world, such as Achille Castiglioni, Pier Giacomo Castiglioni, Tobia Scarpa, Philippe Starck, Jasper Morrison, Konstantin Grcic and Patricia Urquiola. Together, they have created lighting that has become an absolute benchmark of contemporary design.

Over the decades, Flos has built up an exceptional catalogue in which innovation, functionality and artistic expression are in constant dialogue. Iconic designs such as the Arco floor lamp, the Taraxacum pendant light and the collections designed by Philippe Starck bear witness to this ability to combine experimentation with timelessness.

Flos’s identity is based on a firm conviction: light is not limited to its function of illumination. It plays a part in the architecture of spaces, influences emotions and contributes to quality of life. This approach has led the brand to develop solutions suited to residential interiors as well as architectural, commercial and landscape projects.

Always at the forefront of technological developments, Flos has played a major role in the integration of LED technology and in the development of new forms of architectural lighting. Innovation, research and design continue to drive the creation of collections that redefine the possibilities offered by light.

Committed to sustainability and responsible innovation, the brand also explores new materials, promotes eco-design and develops products designed to stand the test of time, both in terms of quality and aesthetics.

Today, Flos is recognised worldwide as a leading name in high-end lighting. Combining the heritage of Italian design, industrial excellence and visionary creativity, the brand continues to shape the history of lighting by creating the icons of tomorrow.
