Alima is a shelving system designed by Note Design Studio for &Tradition. The chromed steel structure forms a slender, almost graphic framework on which the shelves rest. The contrast between the bright metal and the wood creates a visual balance that lightens the whole, even when placed against a solid wall.
This version combines lacquered walnut veneer with lacquered solid walnut edges. The wood is thus protected along the entire perimeter of the shelves, where use is most felt. With a height that remains below eye level, the piece can be placed behind a sofa as well as along a corridor or in an entrance hall.
The wide and shallow proportions make it both a storage support and a display surface. Books, ceramics, collected objects: each level reads clearly, without clutter. Alima naturally finds its place in a living room, an office or a reception area.
