Alima is a shelving system designed by Note Design Studio for &Tradition. The chromed steel structure forms a fine, almost graphic grid on which the wooden shelves rest. The contrast between metal and wood gives the whole a light appearance, far from the usual mass of bookcases.
This version combines lacquered walnut veneer and lacquered solid walnut edges, which give the shelves a clean finish across their entire thickness. The height remains moderate, within reach, and the depth accommodates books as well as objects, ceramics or frames.
Placed against a wall or used as a light divider between two areas, Alima fits into a living room, an office or an entrance. Its open design allows the eye to circulate and highlights what is placed on it.
