Designed by Verner Panton, the Flowerpot VP2 superimposes two steel hemispheres facing each other. The smaller one conceals the light source and reflects the light upwards into the main dome, which then diffuses it downwards without glare. The gesture is simple, immediately legible, and remains one of the most recognisable silhouettes of 1960s Nordic design.
In its Tangy Pink version, the pendant light plays with bold colour. The pink shade catches the eye on a white ceiling, above a dining table or a kitchen island. The generous diameter of this version allows it to be used alone as a central focal point in a room, or repeated in a line to punctuate a large length.
The pendant light is supplied with a textile cord, in the spirit of the original editions. It is installed indoors and accepts a screw-in bulb, left to choice depending on the desired ambience, warmer or more neutral. The same model exists in other finishes, which allows for the multicoloured compositions dear to Panton.
