The Solai vase by Broste Copenhagen plays with the transparency of coloured glass. Its burgundy shade intensifies where the wall thickens and lightens in the light, so that the object changes intensity depending on where you place it. A simple piece, whose entire appeal lies in the material.
The proportions remain restrained: a slender body, a modest diameter, a format that slips onto a bedside table, a shelf or the corner of a side table without taking up space. It holds a few tall stems, a single branch or a small tight bouquet, and stands just as well empty.
As is often the case with the Danish brand, the Solai is conceived as a series. Two or three pieces brought together, of similar heights, create a coloured alignment that is enough to enliven a neutral surface.
