The Solai vase by Broste Copenhagen plays with a compact format, as tall as it is wide. Its squat proportions give it a discreet presence, which suits a coffee table as well as a windowsill or a shelf.
It is made of coloured glass, in a deep Burgundy shade that reacts to light. Depending on the orientation of the day, the volume shifts from an almost opaque dark red to a warmer transparency, and the colour extends onto the surface below.
Its reduced scale calls for short compositions: a few stems, a single flower, low branches. Several pieces brought together form a cohesive ensemble, whose identical heights structure a table or a console.
