Shell is a patterned rug that is part of a collaboration between Layereds and renowned Swedish artist Åsa Jungnelius. Focusing accent on body and soul, color and form, Åsa Jungnelius' artistic vision and symbolic aesthetic infuse a strong sense of feminine power into every object elle creates and every home it inhabits.
The rug's texture is created from a blend of wool and tencel, which gives the rug a glossy finish. Tencel is a high-quality version of viscose and, like wool, is environmentally friendly and highly resistant.
The rug is woven à la by hand, which makes each rug unique, resulting in slight variations in size and color. Due to its hand-tufted construction, the rug tends to lose fibers at first.
