The TOTY L vase by Mademoiselle Jo presents itself as a sculptural piece before being a container. Designed by Joan Bebronne, it plays on the combination of metal and glass, two materials with opposing behaviours, one that structures and the other that lets light through. Its Off White finish softens the whole and gives it a discreet presence, closer to an art object than a decorative accessory.
Its slender silhouette, taller than it is wide, allows it to accommodate a few long stems without overloading the composition. One branch, two dried flowers, or nothing at all: the vase stands alone, on a console, a mantelpiece or a side table. The L version offers enough height to create a visual focal point in a room, without dominating the surrounding objects.
The off-white fits into light interiors as well as more contrasting atmospheres, where it highlights a dark wall or a dark wood top. Two or three pieces brought together compose a small family of volumes, provided you leave them a little space to breathe.
