The TOTY vase designed by Joan Bebronne for Mademoiselle Jo plays the sculpture card before that of the container. Its vertical silhouette, thirty centimetres high and sixteen in diameter, stands out as a bold volume, to be placed alone on a console or sideboard. The Corten Effect finish gives it a mineral and textured hue, in the spirit of oxidised surfaces.
The object combines metal with glass. The former carries the structure and raw aspect, the latter holds water and stems. This combination allows for a graphic exterior whilst maintaining the real use of a vase, for a few branches, a dry composition or a tight bouquet.
Its contained weight and compact proportions make it easy to move from one room to another, as desired. Filled or left empty, TOTY works equally well as a single piece or in a duo with another volume, on a coffee table as in an entrance hall.
