Muuto Shelves

Muuto shelves combine formal rigour with functionality in a distinctly Scandinavian approach: clean lines and volumes designed to blend into the architecture of a room without ever overwhelming it. This collection of 11 designs offers a coherent set of options for organising and enhancing wall space, from the living room to the study and the bedroom. Every model reflects the Danish brand's philosophy: creating everyday objects that carry genuine design intent. For an overview of the brand, browse All Muuto products or explore the wider Shelving department at The Cool Republic.

Founded in Copenhagen in 2006, Muuto has established itself as a benchmark in contemporary Nordic design by working with independent designers who share the same formal standards. Among the most striking pieces in this selection is the Stacked system by Julien De Smedt: a modular system of stackable boxes that can be configured to suit your needs, available in several understated colours and various sizes. The Folded shelves, wall-mounted steel shelves designed by Johan van Hengel, illustrate Muuto's ability to treat storage as a sculptural object in its own right. These two lines neatly sum up the brand's ambition: to offer Muuto storage and organisation solutions that stand out as much for their looks as for their versatility. The finishes available within the collection span a palette of neutral and bolder shades, suited to minimalist and more colourful interiors alike.

These shelves are for anyone looking to bring structure to their home without sacrificing visual coherence. In a living room, hallway or workspace, they pair naturally with other pieces from the Danish brand: wooden Muuto wall hooks for the entrance, or chairs and seating to create a reading corner. To take your thinking on design-led wall solutions further, String furniture shelves are a complementary alternative well worth considering.
