White Shelves

White shelves have become a true interior design classic: understated, light-enhancing and able to blend into any style, from minimalist to contemporary.

White shelves are a true interior design classic: understated, light-filled and able to slip into any style, from minimalist to contemporary. This collection brings together 176 carefully selected pieces, from wall shelves to modular bookcases, as well as freestanding structures designed for organising and displaying. White, the ultimate chameleon colour, unifies a room's visual space while showcasing the decorative objects, books and personal collections arranged on the shelves.

The selection spans a wide range of materials and shapes, from lacquered wood shelves to sleek metal structures. Among the standout pieces, the White String furniture shelves perfectly illustrate this blend of functionality and Scandinavian design: their white lacquered steel grid structure, designed in the 1940s by Nils Strinning, remains one of the most copied wall shelves in the world. For metal enthusiasts, white metal shelves offer the structural rigidity needed for heavier loads, with industrial lines that contrast elegantly with a pure white palette. Sizes vary, from small individual shelves to complete storage systems covering an entire wall, making it possible to compose a bespoke bookcase to suit the needs of each space.

These shelves suit compact interiors just as well as large living spaces: in a living room, they create an open bookcase without visually weighing down the space; in a study, they organise documents and accessories with clarity; in a bedroom or hallway, they hold a curated selection of decorative objects. White pairs naturally with pale wood, stone and linen for a warm result, or with blue shelves to introduce a note of colour into the composition. The full Shelves department offers further alternatives to refine your choice by colour, material or style.
