White floor lamp base black 150 cm Stemlite - Gubi

The Stemlite was inspired by the strong, organic and slender stems that support flower heads in nature.
It was the first "total look" lamp, a pioneering new typology conceived by American designer Bill Curry, which replaced the traditional base plus lampshade form with a single self-contained unit comprising interchangeable modules.

The Stemlite concept originally offered 48 modular variations using the same components to configure floor, table and wall lamps, each reduced to its simplest form plus and visually appealing plus - and was expanded between 1966 and 1971 to include more heights, stems, globes glass, shades, bulb variations and colors. This approach à la both flexible and consistent aligns with Curry's strong conceptual skills, honed by his work as an advertising executive and art director, and the power of contrasting materials he honed at Design Line.
