La Mère the first line of ceramic dinner services from Marie Michielssen, is an affectionate ode à la figure (grand -)to motherhood and women in general. The service appears slightly nostalgic, yet is innovative in many ways thanks to its vertical structure. Each shape is unique and shaped by hand. All pieces are finished with a glaze in off-white or warm dark brown, almost black. As a third contrasting color, Marie opted for a powerful Venetian red. The designer also deliberately chose these colors to créer a mix & match of white and dark brown or red and dark brown.
