La Mère, the first ceramic tableware line from Marie Michielssen, is an affectionate ode à la figure (grand -) to motherhood and women in general. The tableware has a slightly nostalgic feel, yet is innovative in many ways thanks to its vertical structure. Each shape is unique and modeled by hand. All pieces are finished with an off-white or warm dark brown, almost black glaze. As a third contrasting color, Marie opted for a powerful Venetian red. The designer also chose these colors for créer a mix & match of white and dark brown or red and dark brown.
