After creating a myriad of tableware for valerie_objects, Baas has designed a collection of outdoor chairs and a table. "The starting point was similar to every object I create: créer a fully functional piece of design that looks like it was sketched à la by hand, " says Baas. Thus, Baas redefined the typical outdoor furniture of metal frames and wooden slats by sketching the slats with a crayon on paper, then meticulously recreating them in real life. The result is very Maarten Baas: a design that looks like it was drawn by a child.
