Rectangular oak coffee table 130x55x48cm CH011 - Carl Hansen & Søn

The CH011 coffee table was designed by Hans J. Wegner in 1954. Its four tapered legs slope slightly outwards towards both sides of the table, giving the solid top an elegant lightness, encore accentuated by the rounding of the legs towards sol.
The simple expression of the top and the surface in natural wood with its lengthwise grain make it suitable for a variety of uses. CH011 is primarily designed as a coffee table, but its narrow width also allows it to be used as an occasional table. Between the top and the legs, there's a solid wood frame in the shape of a large letter H. This frame has two functions: it stabilizes the solid wood tabletop and, thanks to the angular cuts at the free ends of the H, it guarantees the inclination of the removable legs. The gently rounded profiles of the rectangular table give it an inviting aspect that goes particularly well with many of Wegner's wooden chairs.
