Designed by Iskos-Berlin for Muuto, the Under The Bell pendant light rests on a large bell-shaped lampshade that envelops the light source. Its soft geometry diffuses the light downwards and absorbs part of the ambient sounds, an asset in open volumes where hard surfaces dominate.
The lampshade is made from recycled plastic from post-consumer waste, combined with a rubber cord that underlines the silhouette without weighing it down. The result is a matt, sober object whose presence stems from its generous proportions rather than added decoration.
Suspended alone above a dining table, aligned in twos or threes in a workspace, it frames the light where it is needed. The available cable length leaves the choice of hanging height according to the ceiling and use.
