PH is quite simply the name given to this pendant light designed by Poul Henningsen. This piece of lighting is the fruit of the collaboration between the designer and the design house Louis Poulsen, which began in the mid-1920s and lasted until the end of his life in 1967. It was during this partnership that a design was conceived which would go on to become iconic and remains essential to this day: the logarithmic lampshade signed PH.

The concept rests on Poul Henningsen's determination to produce indirect, diffused light. He devised several superimposed lampshades curving downwards, each one reducing the luminous flux passing through it, to create a complex play of shadows that releases a soft, even ambient light. This is a unique design, one that propelled the collaboration to the forefront of the lighting world and led to the production of almost a thousand PH models over the years.
