The Pao lamp collection is an exciting collaboration with the renowned Japanese designer Naoto Fukasawa. Pao takes its name from the soft, glowing shape of traditional Mongolian tents lit up at night. Designer Fukasawa set out to capture that same atmospheric warmth and conviviality in the Pao steel pendant light. Pao draws on Fukasawa's aesthetic of beautiful simplicity, creating an everyday object inspired by the design values found in the natural world.
By keeping the aesthetic modest and simple, he brings the design into harmony with its surroundings, reinforcing its original purpose of making the atmosphere pleasant and comfortable. Thanks to developments in the latest LED bulb technology, the light source can be concealed, as the pendant light is closed off with a high-quality acrylic (PMMA) diffuser, resulting in a clean, simple design with no visual intrusion. The pendant light's lampshades are made of steel with a gloss finish and are available in a range of sizes and colours. Their functionality and the simplicity of the design make them suitable for a wide variety of spaces and uses in public or private settings.
