The 1965 pendant light was originally designed by Paavo Tynell in 1948. Like many of his best-known creations, the pendant light was designed for the Finland House in New York – one of the most ambitious and successful projects ever undertaken to showcase Finnish design. Perfecting metal-finishing techniques, Tynell developed the 1965 pendant light with his exceptional ability to capture and convey an exuberant grace and lightness in his brass creations.

Characterised by its triangular perforation pattern, an artistic detail used by Tynell in several of his lighting pieces, the 1965 pendant light reflects the distinguished craftsmanship of the Finnish designer. With a frosted glass diffuser that softens the light, the pendant light helps to create a subtle and tranquil setting.
