Over the course of a century, the brand has evolved into a truly modern manufacturing company, drawing inspiration from traditional craftsmanship whilst collaborating with talented architects and designers.

The company’s origins date back to the early 20th century, when the entrepreneur Tage Klint founded the company in 1943.

However, its ‘real’ beginnings date back 40 years earlier, when Tage Klint’s father, the architect P. V. Jensen-Klint, created a hand-pleated lampshade to fit a paraffin lamp he had designed himself.

Years later, the lampshade was refined with the addition of an elasticated collar, which transformed a hobby into a creative business with great potential.

Since then, the descendants of the Klint family have carried on the tradition by using a specialised technique of hand-pleating in series for all the models in the range, at the production workshop in Odense, Denmark.

The products in each collection have been designed by iconic designers such as Poul Christiansen, Kaare Klint, Andreas Hansen, Markus Johansson, Christian Troels, Øivind Slaatto and Aurélien Barbry.
