Karup Design Beds

Karup Design Beds have become a benchmark in wooden bedroom furniture, combining formal rigour with understated functionality. Founded in Denmark, Karup Design has built its identity around a philosophy inherited from Scandinavian design: pared-back structures, carefully treated solid pine construction, and proportions designed to suit a variety of spaces. With 209 references available, this collection covers a broad spectrum of needs, from small bedrooms to more generous living spaces. Karup Design has earned a solid reputation for its Japanese-inspired futon beds, a range that pairs the restraint of natural wood with everyday practicality. The low structures, often without an imposing headboard, encourage that closeness to the floor so characteristic of Japanese-Scandinavian design. The Karup Design Beds collection offers formats ranging from single beds to a large 180x200 cm bed, in several wood finishes: natural pine, black lacquered pine, carob brown or white. Each frame is designed to take standard mattresses and futons, making it easy to furnish your room. To complete your bedroom, browse Karup Design bedding or explore Scandinavian beds to refine your choice according to your aesthetic preferences. Those drawn to dark wood beds will also find alternatives in the Black wooden beds selection, ideal for contemporary interiors with strong contrasts.

These wooden beds are particularly well suited to minimalist bedrooms, cleverly optimised studios or multi-level spaces where restrained furniture takes precedence. Their modular construction and compact footprint make them a good fit for young adults as well as parents looking for durable, no-frills furniture. To pull a coherent living space together, the Karup Design sofa beds range offers complementary solutions conceived in the same spirit of functional simplicity. A logical pairing for a balanced bedroom or living room-cum-bedroom.
