For over 20 years, the JAPAN bed has been an integral part of Karup's stylistic language. An understated icon defined by its pine wood, its low height and its open structure, creating space for everyday life. The JAPAN bed sits low and open within the room. Understated in its proportions and close to the floor. Inspired by the Japanese way of life, its design creates an impression of lightness, balance and tranquillity, without ever demanding attention. In its oak version, the design takes on a warmer, more down-to-earth feel. The natural grain, the discreet knots and the subtle variations in the wood lend the surface depth and life, giving each bed its own serene character.

Tips :
The knots found in our natural wood furniture are what give each piece its unique character and charm. No two pieces are alike. Natural wood surfaces are likely to change over time when constantly exposed to changes in climate, sunlight and humidity. General wood care: do not place hot objects on the furniture; do not place candles directly on the furniture; wipe up any spilled liquids immediately with a damp cloth; check regularly that screws and fixings are tight.
