Kartell Chairs

Kartell chairs bring together, across 14 references, the very best of what the Italian brand does: working plastic as a creative material in its own right, capable of precise lines, luminous transparency and bold colour. Founded in 1949 near Milan, Kartell has turned polymer into a design language that is both rigorous and accessible, a language found throughout All Kartell products available at The Cool Republic. Every chair in this selection embodies that philosophy: a form considered down to the last detail, a mastered material and a striking visual presence.

At the heart of this collection are models that have become benchmarks of contemporary design. The Masters chair, designed by Philippe Starck and Eugeni Quitllet, layers the silhouettes of three modern furniture classics into a single backrest. The Louis Ghost chair, signed by Philippe Starck, reinterprets the Louis XVI medallion armchair in transparent polycarbonate, giving rise to one of the most recognised transparent Kartell chairs in the world. Both designers have worked with Kartell over many years to create pieces that engage with furniture history without ever imitating it. The Philippe Starck chairs available at TCR offer a deeper look into this world. The collection features several colourways per model, from transparent tones to the most current opaque shades, with versions available in white in particular, explored in our White Kartell chairs section. For a broader perspective on plastic shaped into designer seating, the Philippe Starck plastic chairs are a natural complement to this selection.

These chairs are equally at home in a dining room, an office, a living room or a shared workspace. Light yet hard-wearing, they make versatile seats that are easy to move and simple to clean. They pair happily with a table in contrasting materials, wood or metal, for a balanced visual tension. Anyone looking to put together a coordinated set can explore the Kartell tables or compare them with other options in The Cool Republic's Chairs section.
