Bathroom Lamps

Around a hundred bathroom lamps, almost all cordless and rechargeable, protected against splashes of water, by Louis Poulsen, &tradition, Hübsch, Tala or HAY.

The table lamp finds its way into the bathroom thanks to cordless designs: rechargeable, with no socket needed nearby, they bring mood lighting to the edge of the bath or a shelf.

Water protection is essential

The lamps in this selection carry a protection rating suited to damp rooms, most often IP44: they withstand splashes of water and steam. They must not be immersed in water and are best recharged outside the damp room.

Battery life and light

Depending on the design, battery life ranges from a few hours to several evenings, often with several brightness levels adjusted by touch. Warm light, around 2,700 kelvins, suits a bath. Lacquered metal, plastic and ceramic dominate, in bold colours: green, blue, red, black or white.

Frequently asked questions

Can you put a cordless lamp on the edge of the bath?

Yes, if it is at least IP44, provided there is no risk of it falling into the water. It resists splashes, not immersion.

What battery life for a cordless lamp?

It varies with the design and the brightness chosen, generally from 6 to more than 20 hours. One charge a week is enough for mood lighting in the evening.

Is a cordless lamp enough to light a bathroom?

No, it gives supplementary light. The main lighting comes from the ceiling and the wall lights around the mirror.
