The Puff Lamp collection is a modern, sculptural take on the traditional rice paper lamp, designed according to simple, organic principles. The Puff Lamp collection pays tribute to one of the oldest lamp-making traditions in Asia. Rice paper lampshades have been used for centuries and originally adorned temple halls. The inspiration behind the Puff Lamp collection also came from a trip to Japan, where designer Saskia Huebner saw countless variations on the rice paper lamp. This motivated her to strike the perfect balance between sculptural playfulness and functional minimalism, and gave rise to a collection that invites you to arrange different voluminous shapes in a playful way.
Puff is therefore just as suited to a large hotel lobby or a restaurant as it is to a small private room. Voluminous yet lightweight. Rice paper as a material makes it possible to achieve immense volume without wasting unnecessary material or producing a heavy, impractical design. Rice paper delivers a warm, natural light, as it prevents the light source from being too bright and overexposed. The lamps thus diffuse a soft light, while appearing as organic sculptures within the given space.
