The Woodendot company loves wood, but also ingenuity and design. This comes across as soon as you discover their many inventive finds, and most especially Batea: starting from the idea that a coffee table can serve several purposes, Woodendot's two designers have created this piece which is both coffee table, side table, stool and tray – in short, a piece of furniture which, as they humorously put it, can just as easily carry your drinks as your colleagues. Its surface is made of beautiful solid wood resting on a lacquered metal structure. Three flat-profile wooden legs make up the base. Above the surface sits a superimposed tray of similar diameter, fitted with a discreet rim. Slotting perfectly onto this support, it blends in while retaining its own character. Rather clever, don't you think? You are free to choose Batea on its own, in a single colour, or to fill your living room with them by mixing the colours: you can then swap the trays around and create your own models. The colours offered by Woodendot are so beautiful that, here at The Cool Republic, we simply couldn't make up our minds: Batea is therefore available in seven different finishes, leaving you every possible choice!
