Black wall light Satellite - Gubi

The striking, bold and playful Satellite wall light, designed by Mathieu Matégot, is available once again after a wait of almost seventy years. With its geometric shapes and finely balanced arms creating an exceptional sculptural aesthetic, the name and concept of Satellite were Matégot's tribute to scientific progress and the optimism of post-war France. The Satellite wall light consists of two lampshades made from Rigitulle – Matégot's technique of folding and bending perforated steel to obtain an original oblong-shaped lampshade – which are mounted on sculptural metal arms. The result is a unique interplay of transparency, weightlessness and balance, with a play of light and shadow that is both atmospheric and festive. The Rigitulle lampshades of the Satellite wall light are available in cream white, soft black semi-matt or a combination of the two, and are mounted on a soft black semi-matt fixing and arms. Despite its name, it can also be mounted on the ceiling to create a stunning centrepiece. Matégot's much sought-after "balloons on a string" design can once again make a bold statement in any interior, whether at home, in the workplace or in hospitality
