The Wholly pendant light by Bazar Bizar is woven in rattan in its natural shade. The openwork weave allows light to filter through and projects a pattern of shadows on the walls and ceiling. The object remains simple, almost elemental, with that slightly artisanal presence that hand-worked fibre imparts.
Its broad, low-slung shape sits readily above a dining table, a kitchen island or a seating area, at a height that allows the gaze to circulate freely. The medium format also makes it possible to install them in a line, two or three pieces side by side, to cover a table length without adding visual weight.
Natural rattan suits interiors where wood, linen and light tones dominate, but works equally well as a counterpoint to more contemporary furniture. Each piece displays slight variations in shade and weave, a mark of handwork.
