In collaboration with contemporary artist Emilia Ilke, Layered is today launching the Picnic wool rug. Inspired by ceramics, photography and fashion, Emilia embraces everyday household objects and gives them a new place that is up to the observer to interpret. The playful design highlights the character of each shape and creates the feeling that nothing is too insignificant to be noticed. The Picnic rug is handmade from 100% soft long-pile wool. The colour palette is light, with a beige base and dusty pastels.

Due to their long pile and natural material, long-pile rugs tend to shed. With regular vacuuming, shedding decreases over time, but never disappears completely.
