The surface of Bright Ripple mimics the rings that form on a liquid when an object passes through its surface. A phenomenon known in nature as "capillary waves".
These rings create a distinct pattern and illustrate the relationship between cause and effect, rather like Newton's cradle. It suggests that everything is connected – what happens in the south affects conditions in the north and vice versa. In other words, it is an embodiment of the ripple effect expressed on a spherical form, not unlike a planet.
The project is therefore rooted in nature. Bright Ripple explores the idea of rhythm and patterns, and flirts with Fibonacci numbers. The project has strong poetic qualities.
Bright Ripple is a classic, made from mouth-blown glass and supplied with a solid brass cover.
The pendant light measures 20 cm in diameter. The cable supporting the Bright Ripple is 2 m long, the power cable is 3 m long and is available in cream or black. This version is the one with the black cable.
