La Mère, Marie Michielssen's first ceramic tableware collection, is an affectionate ode to the (grand)motherly figure and to women in general.

The collection feels slightly nostalgic, while being innovative in many respects thanks to its vertical structure. Each shape is unique and hand-modelled.

All the pieces are finished with an off-white glaze or a warm dark brown, almost black, glaze. As a third contrasting colour, Marie opted for a powerful Venetian red. The designer also deliberately chose these colours to create a mix & match of white and dark brown, or red and dark brown.
