With Edison the Giant, Fatboy transposes the familiar silhouette of the table lamp to an unexpected scale. The object rises to over one metre eighty, with a generously dimensioned lampshade set on a conical base. This shift in scale is enough to structure a space: the lamp becomes a landmark, almost a sculpture, where a conventional light source would simply provide illumination.

The anthracite version adopts a dark, matt shade that absorbs daylight and allows the form to assert itself through its outline. The body is made of linear low-density polyethylene, a rotomoulded material that withstands outdoor use and gives the whole a reassuring mass. Terrace, garden, poolside or large interior volume, the object finds its place wherever the available height allows.

The smart version adds remote control, to adjust intensity and programme switching on without moving. Evenings gain in flexibility: low, diffuse light at mealtimes, more direct lighting when the space comes alive. A single gesture from a phone is enough to change the atmosphere.
