Born in 1970 by Livio Castiglioni and Gianfranco Frattini, and defined by Domus as "an endless snake of light", it immediately entered the history of the Italian and world design. Its translucent soft PVC structure, reinforced and equipped with resin terminals, makes it practically indestructible. The various elements can be connected in series up to a maximum of four pieces that can be rolled up at will. It emits a diffused light and its timeless design makes it an evergreen suitable for any environment. Thanks to its flexibility, which makes it unique of its kind, it can be placed on the sol or on a table, hung or twisted to invent new jeux of light every day. Produced from 1970 to 1983 and slightly modified in 1999, it has now been rebuilt by replacing the classic bulbs with high efficiency LEDs. Boalum is part of many museum collections of design, starting with the Museum of Modern Art in Philadelphia or the Italian Museum of design Milan.

This item is made in Europe, which generally shortens transport distances and supports more local production chains.
