Shown here in a square version, it is designed to house a single electrical switch or dimmer. It is also available in a rectangular version to accommodate two electrical accessories. This is a standard back box that you can purchase alongside your switch or dimmer if your home is not already equipped with one.

These square back boxes are compatible with the 1G models of switches and dimmers from the same brand (excluding the Originelle collection, which requires a non-standard back box).
