The CH101 chaise longue by Hans J. Wegner is a short but extremely comfortable chair. Elle is built on a solid beechwood inner frame and two armrests, which are upholstered à la by hand to the highest quality standards. To ensure dimensional stability, the seat and back cushions are made of a mousse core wrapped in a down cover to enhance comfort. The leather upholstery is removable and features discreetly placed ventilation holes.
The flat stainless steel frame features compose a longitudinal rail which is connected to the foot by runners at each end. Stainless steel is also present in the armrests, where it supports the armrests and covers the upholstery front and back. This creates an interesting contrast with the upholstery.
The CH101 chaise longue was designed, at the time, as part of an exclusive range of furniture from bureau and today represents one of Wegner's plus fine achievements in stainless steel. The CH100 series was relaunched in 2008 to mark Carl Hansen & Søn 's 100th anniversary.
