The CH101 lounge chair by Hans J. Wegner is a short yet extremely comfortable chair. It is built on an inner frame of solid beech wood and two armrests, which are upholstered by hand to the highest quality standards. To ensure dimensional stability, the seat and back cushions consist of a foam core wrapped in a down casing for enhanced comfort. The leather cover is removable and features discreetly positioned ventilation holes.
The flat stainless steel frame consists of a longitudinal rail connected to the base by runners at each end. Stainless steel also appears in the armrests, where it supports them and covers the upholstery at the front and rear. This creates an interesting contrast with the padding.
The CH101 lounge chair was originally designed as part of an exclusive range of office furniture and today represents one of Wegner's finest achievements in stainless steel. The CH100 series was relaunched in 2008 to mark the celebration of Carl Hansen & Søn's 100th anniversary.
