An inventive and creative brand, Umbra was born in Toronto under the impetus of two friends as imaginative as they are aesthetes, Paul Rowan and Les Mandelbaum. The name Paul Rowan Umbra means "the shadow" in Latin, because Paul Rowan's very first creation was a designer louver made with his own hands for his own home: the shadow was his goal, his name has remained as the promise of a successful product.

The DNA of the brand is still the same today as the team of designers who joined the company is still focused on designing beautiful and practical objects for everyday use at affordable prices, such as jewelry boxes, frames or wall decorations.
