Pascale Naessens
From best-selling author to ceramic artist, Pascale Naessens brings her vision to everything she does.
Born in 1969 in Eeklo, Belgium, Pascale Naessens began her career as a model. She travelled the world, visiting Paris, Milan, Madrid, Hong Kong and Tokyo for several years, before returning to her home country. She then pursued a career in television, where she presented several interior design programmes. This was her first step into the world of design and architecture. However, it was food and nutrition that would bring her greater recognition. She returned to her studies and became a nutrition consultant.
Pascale has also become a symbol of wholesome, healthy cooking. She does not seek to promote dieting, but rather to select satisfying foods that are compatible with weight maintenance and a sustainable long-term approach to eating. She has published numerous books on the subject, around ten of which have become bestsellers, and most of her books have been translated into French, English or German.
The multi-talented Pascale Naessens undertook several years of intensive training in ceramics, enamelling and firing techniques. After meeting Sabiha from Tunisia, she developed a fascination for ceramics. She then set out to design tableware in which a good meal would embody romance and interaction in its purest form. She designed a ceramic tableware range in her studio and presented the prototypes directly to Serax. This led to the creation of the Pure tableware collection.
Pure embodies the authenticity and warmth born of organic lines and natural materials. It is the designer’s first tableware range and has been a resounding success. Her vision of food is translated into these tableware pieces.
