New Works

Are you a fan of Scandinavian design pieces with that unique, minimalist style for which the region is renowned? If so, here’s your chance to get to know a brand that’s sure to meet your expectations when it comes to Nordic design: New Works.

The Material or Tense pendant light, the Kizu table lamp, the Rise & Shine mirror – do these names ring a bell? It’s no surprise, as New Works, based in Copenhagen, Denmark, has been making waves ever since it was founded in 2015!

Founded by two enthusiasts, Nikolaj Meier and Knut Bendik Humlevik, they established their brand with the guiding principle and values of creating lighting and furniture that sit at the crossroads of art and design. That said, these pieces are by no means lacking in functionality, ensuring they are a pleasure to use every day at home. Since its inception, this brand has held our attention with each successive collection.

Every piece produced by the New Works design house is innovative and unique, thanks to prestigious collaborations from around the world, and more specifically with designers from a wide range of backgrounds, such as Panter & Tourron, Hunting & Narud, John Asbury and Noergaard & Kechayas.

The various creative and experimental techniques employed by this extraordinary manufacturer go so far as to push the boundaries of reality with unique, organic forms, innovative textures and unprecedented materials, whilst paying tribute to the ever-present Scandinavian craftsmanship.

New Works lamps are now among the must-haves for enhancing our interiors, whether it’s the Tense pendant light – a dreamlike creation by the duo Panter & Tourron, featuring a Tyvek shade with a poetic and abstract shape that combines style and sustainability. The Cool Team also loves the indispensable Material pendant light, whose flagship model—with its white or black marble shade offering a look that’s both chic and minimalist—is a must-have. Not to mention the Kizu table lamp, an ode to simplicity with a divinely contemporary feel, or the exceptional Rise & Shine, which is more of a contemporary artwork than a mirror!

Table lamps, pendant lights, vases, mirrors, chairs and shelves are just some of the items available in this collection of unique pieces featured on this page, curated by The Cool Republic and dedicated to fans of high-quality Scandinavian design.

Whatever your needs in this area, the New Works brand will enable you to visualise your home and find THE piece that will really bring out the best in your living spaces.

The icing on the cake: with this brand, the aim is to make design accessible.

Have you been dreaming of this Material pendant light to add a touch of style to your living room? You’ve got no more excuses not to go for it!
