Karup Design Cotton Sofa Beds

The Karup Design sofa beds in cotton bring together 47 designs conceived to turn a living room into a sleeping space without compromising on style. Cotton, a natural and breathable material, gives each model a soft seat, a pleasant feel and the durability required for everyday use. Here, the Danish brand opts for the formal restraint inherited from Nordic design, where functionality never conflicts with aesthetics. Each sofa unfolds easily to provide a quality bed, with no complex mechanism.

Founded in Denmark, Karup Design has spent several decades building a range of well-designed, affordable convertible furniture. Its futon sofas, of which the Roots series remains one of the most sought-after, combine a solid wood frame with natural fabric covers, cotton forming the heart of the collection. Within The Cool Republic's Sofa beds department, the Karup Design cotton selection spans a wide spectrum of colours, from sand to petrol blue by way of muted, contemporary tones. Dimensions vary from one model to the next, with sleeping areas generally ranging from 120 to 160 cm wide, suiting a studio flat just as well as a guest room. Lovers of botanical shades will find what they are looking for among the Karup Design sofas in olive, while interiors with warm tones naturally lead towards the Karup Design sofas in burgundy.

These cotton sofa beds are aimed at anyone looking for a versatile piece for a compact living room, a guest room or a study with a sleeping corner. Cotton pairs easily with other natural materials such as linen, pale wood or rattan, and slips effortlessly into a Scandinavian, minimalist or wabi-sabi interior. To create a cohesive space, it makes sense to combine them with pieces from the Karup Design bedding range, designed to fit the dimensions and frames of the brand's sofas precisely.
