Playful, poetic and understated, the Space Copenhagen design team has reimagined the traditional lantern with the Unbound floor lamp, both soothing and full of character. The teardrop-shaped marble base acts as an anchor, while the white linen or natural canvas lampshade can be rotated effortlessly around it, like a sail gently catching the wind. Its dark antique brass "mast" supports a set of dimmable LED lamps inside the lampshade, producing a soft, diffuse and evenly spread light.
The largest of the Unbound floor lamps, it can be used to make a bold, standalone statement, or be paired with the medium and small versions to form a sculptural group. By varying the angles of the "sails" in relation to one another, you obtain a soothing, floating and dynamic sculpture, even when switched off. This balance between character and sophistication means the Unbound floor lamps are destined to grace private homes as well as large-scale projects.
