In tribute to the legacy of Poul Henningsen, the PH 3/2 Centenary Edition table lamp is based on the iconic three-shade system, the PH system, invented by Poul Henningsen in 1926.
Based on this system, Poul Henningsen developed hundreds of lamps, as well as the mathematical principle that made it possible to achieve excellent lighting quality in many contexts.
The lamp is in burnished brass carefully lacquered to preserve the patina, and three mouth-blown glass shades in an interesting combination, the upper one with four layers in Amber colour and those below with three layers in White Opal, all glossy on the outside and matt white sandblasted on the inside. This provides an excellent way to deliver both warm ambient light upwards whilst maintaining soft, diffused and non-glare light downwards.
Combined with a dark brown textile cord, the PH 3/2 Centenary Edition table lamp brings a distinctive vintage touch to any environment. It is a contemporary interpretation of the 100 years of heritage of the ingenious PH system.
