In 1921, Bernard-Albin Gras designed a range of lamps for factories and design offices. The Lampe Gras is remarkable for its ergonomics and the sheer simplicity of its mechanics – no screws, no welding – giving it truly unshakeable sturdiness.

But Bernard-Albin Gras was also one of the first designers of the twentieth century: not content with innovating, he gave his creations an original functional aesthetic, particularly in the drawing of the bases and connecting rods.

It wasn't long before Le Corbusier, won over by the modernity of its design and its ease of use, adopted the Gras range of lamps, installing them in his own studio as well as in his many projects around the world. The Lampe Gras thus became a legend.

The Cool Team is head over heels for the Gras collection.
