Gras

In 1921, Bernard-Albin Gras created a range of lamps for industry and design offices. The Lampe GRAS is remarkable for its ergonomics and the simplicity of its mechanics – neither screws nor welds – which give it unfailing sturdiness.

But Bernard-Albin Gras was also one of the first designers of the twentieth century: not content with innovating, he lent his creations an original functional aesthetic, notably in the design of the bases and connecting rods.

Very quickly, Le Corbusier, won over by the modernity of its design and its ease of use, adopted the range of GRAS lamps and introduced them into his own studio as well as into his many projects around the world.
