Panthella

The Panthella lamp was born of the close collaboration between design house Louis Poulsen and designer Verner Panton, a partnership that began in the 1970s and lasted until the end of his life. The lamp went on to enjoy worldwide success and perfectly embodies the extravagant, playful spirit of the designer and architect. The Panthella collection has become one of the defining symbols of the seventies, an era now back in the design spotlight half a century on.

The Panthella collection, like its original design, is built around the idea of a lampshade and a base that mirror one another. To heighten this luminous effect, Verner Panton used materials that were innovative at the time, allowing the light from the bulb to filter through. The iconic dome-shaped lampshade then casts a soft, even light downwards.
